I had to chuckle a little at such a cute and innocent question. "No," I said, "Probably not. But I voted for him! And daddy did. And Uncle M voted for him, and Uncle D voted for him!"
-----
I haven't heard or looked yet, but I imagine all the "Christians" and conservatives are weeping over the outcome last night. Too bad they didn't do the right thing and vote for someone deserving of their vote, then at least they wouldn't have that guilt on their conscience as well. You know what's funny? Most of the "Christians" out there believe in the heresy of Calvinism and will have said God had already determined the outcome from eternity past. So why not vote with integrity, if it won't effect the already determined future anyway? Maybe some will re-think their theology now...probably not, but maybe.
I am responsible before God to do what is right. So is everyone else. I did my best to get the information to everyone I could. As a Christian, that is also my responsibility - to love my neighbor and warn them and encourage them toward righteousness. What others do with that information, if they choose to continue in willful ignorance, that is up to them. They will give account in the end.
I imagine that will go something like this:
God: You voted for John McCain, and in doing so you are an accomplice to murder.
"Christian": But-but...I didn't vote for Obama, and he's worse! He would have killed so many more babies!
God: I asked you to be faithful to Me. Be Holy, as I am Holy. You voted for John McCain, and in doing so you are an accomplice to murder.
"Christian": But, Lord! If I had voted for a third party (Christian still shudders at the thought), it would have been the same as voting for Obama. I would have helped him win.
God: You of little faith...why did you doubt? (Matthew 14:31) You have so little faith. (Matthew 17:20) I asked you to be faithful to Me. Be Holy, as I am Holy. You voted for John McCain, and in doing so you are an accomplice to murder.
"Christian": Speechless. (because there is no response, no excuse.)
Romans 1:29-3229 being filled with all unrighteousness, sexual immorality, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, evil-mindedness; they are whisperers, 30 backbiters, haters of God, violent, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, 31 undiscerning, untrustworthy, unloving, unforgiving, unmerciful; 32 who, knowing the righteous judgment of God, that those who practice such things are deserving of death, not only do the same but also approve of those who practice them.
